Energie Helpline Information day for FP7

London, Thursday 15th July 2010

The Energie Helpline UK, the UK National Contact Point (NCP) for the Energy Theme within the FP7 Co-operation Programme, is holding a free Information Day. It will cover the calls in the 2011 Energy Work Programme, as well as the recently launched Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Technology Initiative (FCH JTI) Call.

The London Information Day will include a series of presentations about the call priorities in the morning, then lunch followed by the opportunity to discuss your proposal ideas on a one-to-one basis with members of the Energie Helpline team.

Eight calls for proposals relating to the Energy Theme of FP7 with a total expected budget of EUR 270 million, are due to be launched at the end of July 2010. The Information Day will provide pre-notification of the likely content of these calls.

The calls are likely to include the following topics:
• Concentrated Solar Power (CSP);
• bio-energy;
• wind;
• solar thermal;
• Photovoltaics (PV);
• CO2 capture and storage;
• clean coal;
• smart energy networks;
• energy efficiency in manufacturing industry; and
• energy efficiency in buildings.

The information presented at the event will be based on draft information since the event will be held before the FP7 Energy calls have been officially launched. However, given the first deadlines are expected in October, the event aims to give organisations an awareness of the likely Call content before the summer break.

The Information Day will also include information on the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Technology Initiative Call for Proposals that was launched 18th June (deadline 13 October 2010).
