Promoting Internationalisation
Promoting the internationalisation of sustainable energy research is an important role, which is only partially within the existing remits of other bodies operating within Scotland, and one which is not well-resourced with dedicated and appropriate expertise.
While Scotland is building a reputation for innovative research and design, there remains substantial scope to take a:
- lead in building international linkages between indigenous organisations with a green energy research focus (both academic and commercial) and foreign partners across the European Union (EU) and beyond; and
- proactive approach to encouraging interest and funding commitment, amongst bodies such as the European Commission (EC) and the UK and Scottish Governments, in specific areas of thematic research.
